Alfred was a solution developed for Very Exclusive, a company that sits under the Shop Direct umbrella. They deliver midrange luxury brands to customers through their own website. Currently, they have a womenswear site and their main audience is composed by women aged 24-45 that steer towards designer brands. The brief asked us how to create a profitable menswear site and to tackle the question “How can Very Exclusive market & retail a premium menswear range without disrupting its current womenswear success?

 

After conducting research with the target group, our team realised that men are faster and more pragmatic at shopping than women. We then created Alfred, a Very Exclusive app that would make shopping online a pleasurable experience for men. Based on a strong AI concept, the user would describe the desired product either by text, voice command or upload a picture of it. The app would respond by presenting options or asking questions in order to refine the search.
